Kagawa
KAGAWAIslands, sea and udon in Japan’s smallest prefecture.
From Seto Inland Sea islands to castle and shrine towns.
A guide to four areas I actually visited.
01What is Kagawa like?ABOUT
Kagawa sits near the center of the Seto Inland Sea and is the smallest prefecture in Japan by area. Its mild, dry climate, calm sea, scattered islands and gentle hills create beautiful scenery, and the Seto Ohashi Bridge makes it easy to reach from Honshu.
Beyond its famous udon culture, compact Kagawa packs in historic castle and shrine towns and the life and culture of the Seto Inland Sea islands.
